All it takes to have a rockin'
good time these days is to contact The Shambells. contact info: Dave
Goodfriend
The Shambells can shuffle,
swing, twang and wail with the best of them.
But what they do better than anything is rock. The Shambells noticed a
distinct lack of rocking in the DC area. They have made it their
mission to remedy this situation.
The band features the original songs of David Goodfriend and Russ Beeker.
They also have a unique collection of songs that they have made their
own. Artists such as Peter Case, Arthur Alexander and Dave Alvin
have had their songs "Shamleized". You might have a hint of
what the
song is, but The Shambells have breathed new life into them with their
verisons. Step up to the bandstand and meet and greet The Shambells.

The Beverly Brothers
themselves. Russ and David began playing together
in England. They made the rounds of Sussex pubs then ventured up to
London to treat the English to some Gram Parsons and Byrds tunes. After
going their own way for awhile, the Beverly's were reunited in DC area
in the late 70's and proceeded to form Goin' Goin' Gone. A fixture on
the DC 80's roots rock scene, the triple G's rocked the east coast for
a
decade. They played many gigs with Danny Gatton and were honored to
have him record with them. Along the way they played the Kennedy Center
and shared the stage with such notables as Neville Brothers, Little
Feat, Johnny Winter and many others. And now they are ready to show
off their new thread and tunes.

Mike Dutton Lead Guitar
Mike handles the bulk of
the lead guitar. A more soulful guitarist cannot be found. He started
playing clubs in his native Alexandria, VA at the age of 15. Eventually
he ended up playing with the Beach Boys and has recorded with Anson
Funderburgh. Recently Mike has been playing with Lil Ronnie and the
Grand Dukes and The Catfish Hodge Band.

Clark Matthews-drums
Clark has abused a number of bands since moving to the DC/Baltimore
area twenty some years ago including Tom Pricipato, Bob Margolin,
Carey Bell, and countless local bands. Being reunited with Russ and
Dave has proven to be better than ever. Clark's "keep it simple"
approach leaves the door wide open for Tommy to lay that cushion down
for the rest of the boys to ride on.

Tommy Hannigan-bass
Originally from the great state of Texas, where he played with many blues
and jazz musicians.

And now you can
add The Shambells to that list.
So there you have it. |
